Nobody gave a chance to the Afghani team in its encounter but it showed some great resilience, determination and guts and tried its best to defend the meager target of 130 runs. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first, the Afghani team managed to put a score of 129/6 on the scoreboard in its stipulated 20 overs. The manner in which Pakistan batters batted against India, everyone felt that Pakistan would achieve the target in 10-15 overs but Afghani bowlers put up a great show and made Pakistani batters struggle in scoring runs.

In the 19th over of the Pakistani innings, Pakistani batter Asif Ali (16 runs, 8 balls, 2 sixes) and Afghani bowler Fareed Ahmed got into an ugly spat and the former lifted his bat to hit the bowler but eventually they both were separated by Afghani fielders and umpires. In the 20th over, Naseem Shah smashed two consecutive sixes and made his team win the match which aggravated Afghani fans who were hoping to see their team win the match.

Though as per the reports, fans from both the sides were involved in creating ruckus in the stadium yet former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar claimed that Afghani fans behaved violently and they have done it in the past as well.

He tweeted, “This is what Afghan fans are doing. This is what they’ve done in the past multiple times. This is a game and it’s supposed to be played and taken in the right spirit. @ShafiqStanikzai your crowd & your players both need to learn a few things if you guys want to grow in the sport.”

While Shoaib Akhtar shared a video in his tweet, he also tagged Shafiq Stanikzai, former Afghanistan cricket chief in his tweet.

Shafiq Stanikzai responded by issuing a strict warning to the former Pak cricketer as he tweeted, “You can’t control the emotions of the crowd and such incidents happened in the world of cricket multiple, you should go ask Kabir Khan, Inzimam Bhai and @iRashidLatif68 how we treated them. Am giving you an advice next time baat ko nation pe Mat lena”
