After beef ban, an order has been passed to shut slaughter houses in the course of Paryushan, Jain fasting period. This order passed when VTAS (Vishwamaitra Trust Ahinsa Sangh) demanded and Mira-Bhayander municipal corporation put a ban of meat selling in that region for a period of 8 days.
At this point, it’s worth mentioning that Shiv Sena is against this ban and according to Neelam Dhawan, Shiv Sena Corporator, “People of different religions live in the city. You cannot put restrictions on what people eat even if it is during the fasting period. Nobody is taking anything to their homes. This is all politics.”
#MeatBan created a storm and people not only from the state but also the entire nation are expressing their views over the matter. In fact, people are so fed up with bans on one thing after another that they simply want to ban this thing called ‘ban’.
