Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian all-rounder is the man of the moment as he has been announced as the new skipper of Chennai Super Kings which is the second most successful team of the league with four IPL wins. CSK was captained by MS Dhoni from the inaugural edition of 2008 till the last season of 2021 (excluding 2016 & 2017 when CSK was banned from the IPL) and with this, Ravindra Jadeja has become the second cricketer to lead CSK as the full-time captain.

There were speculations of Ravindra Jadeja becoming the next skipper of CSK because ahead of the mega-auction for the IPL 2022, he was announced as the first retention choice of CSK despite MSD being the skipper of the team. While Jadeja will be paid Rs. 16 crore, MS Dhoni is the second retention choice of CSK because of which he will be paid Rs. 12 crore. It is being said that Dhoni will remain associated with the team as a wicketkeeper-batsman for two seasons.

Though MS Dhoni is not quite active on the social media networks for some time now, he made some funny tweets on Ravindra Jadeja in the year 2013 as he was very much impressed with his game because of which he also started calling him “Sir Ravindra Jadeja”.

Whenever Ravindra Jadeja performs well or makes headlines, the old tweets of MS Dhoni resurface and recently after he was announced as the new skipper of CSK, the same happened once again.

Check out Mahi’s old tweets in which he almost compared Jadeja to South superstar Rajinikanth:

How talented and skilled Ravindra Jadeja is can be understood by the fact that even the legendary Shane Warne was very much impressed with him when Jadeja used to play for Rajasthan Royals and it was the late Aussie leg spinner who nicknamed Jadeja as Rockstar.

CSK will play the first match against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26 and this will be the first time when MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli will be playing for their respective franchises – CSK and RCB but they won’t be leading their teams.

Hopefully, Sir Ravindra Jadeja will be able to carry on the legacy of MS Dhoni successfully.
