“Om Shanti Om” which is one of the biggest hits of Bollwood was directed by Farah Khan and starred Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade and others in important roles.
This movie had a song, “Deewangi Deewangi” in which almost entire Bollywood came to dance, more than 30 stars of the industry were a part of this song but till date, fans are not happy with the fact that the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan didn’t appear in the track.
In an old interview, Farah Khan revealed the real reason behind the absence of Amitabh Bachchan from this song. She said that Big B was not able to come for the song because his son Abhishek was getting married to Aishwarya in the same week. Farah also joked after that as she said that thankfully, the industry was not invited in the wedding so all of them came for the shooting of the song.
When Farah was asked that the legendary actor Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu also didn’t appear in the song, she said that she wanted both of them in the song and Shah Rukh used to say that he would go and bring them personally on the set. She said that every day, she used to ask SRK about Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu and he always said that he would go and bring them tomorrow but that never happened.
Farah Khan said that there were many others who couldn’t come as Hema Malini was out of town and they had only six days to shoot the song but there were some actors who gate crashed.
Released in 2007, “Om Shanti Om” was the debut movie of Deepika Padukone and it was loosely inspired from the 1980 released Karz in which late actor Rishi Kapoor played the lead role. SRK played double roles in “Om Shanti Om” and the songs of the movie were also loved by the audiences.
