The legendary megastar Amitabh Bachchan has tried to keep himself away from politics but his wife Jaya Bachchan is very active in politics and has filed nomination for Rajya Sabha from Samajwadi party on 9th March. She has also filed an affidavit in election commission in which the details of her wealth are also given.
As per the affidavit, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan own property worth Rs. 10 billion combine, which includes all immovable and movable properties.
Double property in 6 years:
The property value has gone double in the last 6 years as in 2012, they had property worth Rs. 500 crore and it increased to Rs. 1,000 crore in 2018.
According to the affidavit, Jaya and Amitabh presently own Rs 460 crore worth immovable property while in 2012, it was worth Rs. 152 crore. Their movable property in 2012 was worth Rs. 343 crore while in 2018, it has increased to Rs. 540 crore.
Jewellery, Vehicles & Accessories:
They have gold ornaments worth Rs. 62 crore out of which jewellery worth Rs. 36 crore is owned by Amitabh Bachchan while Jaya owns ornaments worth Rs. 26 crore. Amitabh has 12 vehicles, the value of which is Rs. 13 crore and his fleet includes one Rolls-Royce, three Mercedez, a Porshe and a Range Rover. He also owns a Tata Nano car as well as a tractor.
Besides, Big B also owns watches worth Rs. 3.4 crore while Jaya owns watches worth Rs. 51 lakh. Amitabh also has pens worth Rs. 9 lakh.
Land:
Jaya Bachchan has a land plot of 1.22 hectare worth Rs. 2.2 crore in Kakori, Lucknow. Big B owns 3 acre land in Daulatpur, Barabanki, worth Rs. 5.7 crore as well as lands in Noida, Bhopal, Pune, Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. Not just this, he also owns 3175 sq. meter residential plot in France.
Accounts of Mr. & Mrs. Bachchan:
They both have bank accounts in many countries. As per the affidavit, Jaya and Amitabh have accounts in the banks of London, Dubai and Paris. The total bank accounts of Jaya and Amitabh are 19, out of which 4 are in the name of Jaya Bachchan in which Rs. 6.84 crore are deposited. She has only one account in foreign bank in which Rs. 6.59 crore are deposited, while Rs. 47.47 crore are deposited in 15 bank accounts of Big B. He also has FD and deposits in banks in Delhi and Mumbai, Paris branch of Bank of India, London branch of Bank of India and BNP France.
