It has been an average year for Bollywood considering both content and Box Office. There were less films which surprised positively and more films which disappointed.
But still, if we count on fingers, there were more than 15 films this year which can be considered the well-made ones.

10. Shubh Mangal Saavdhan
On 10th rank, we’ve Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer romantic comedy film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. The R.S. Prasanna directed film didn’t follow any tried and tested formula. It was just pure, funny and honest take on a different love story.
The audience loved it and made the film a Hit in long run.
9. Secret Superstar
Aamir Khan’s Diwali release Secret Superstar had Zaira Wasim in lead role. The film won huge critical acclaim and the performances were also admired.
Despite lacking the universal appeal, the film went on to earn a respectable money at Box Office.
8. Jolly LLB 2
Sequel to successful comedy-drama Jolly LLB had Akshay Kumar in lead so the expectations were also bigger. The film proved to be a worthy sequel to its first part and emerged a much bigger Hit.
7. The Ghazi Attack
A big film with not so popular starcast was a tough and very risky decision by the filmmakers. But the content worked and the film was loved by its audience.
The Ghazi Attack is one of the best films of this year thanks to its highly engaging and visually appealing content.
6. Lipstick Under My Burkha
One of the most controversial films this year, Lipstick Under My Burkha found it really tough to actually reach cinemas. But when it released, it was loved by audience for its hard hitting and unapologetic content and story telling.
5. Kaabil
After a long streak of failure, Hrithik Roshan finally got a success with Kaabil. The love story and revenge drama striked the right chord with audience. It managed to sail through at Box Office despite strong competition from Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees.
4. Toilet Ek Prem Katha
A subject that no superstar could’ve dared to pick, was taken by Akshay Kumar. Initially, no one had big expectations from the film but the content did the magic and it went to become one of the Biggest Hits of 2017 and also Akshay Kumar’s highest grosser ever.

3. Trapped
Vikramaditya Motwane directed and Rajkummar Rao starrer Trapped was a nail-biting thriller which talked about survival. The film had its own share of appreciation and was a success at Box Office.
2. Newton
Rajkummar Rao starrer Newton was made on a very tight budget but the heart behind the film was really big.
The film garnered great critical acclaim and proved to be a sleeper Hit. It was also declared India’s official entry for Oscar Awards.
1. Hindi Medium
Hindi Medium gave a very strong message in a very light-hearted but still hard-hitting manner. Irrfan Khan’s breathtaking performance and Saba Qamar’s natural acting took away the heart of audience.
The biggest plus still was the story telling which was highly convincing and relatable. The film deserves to be on the Top of list.
