Other than the famous Bollywood movies which are based on novels that we pretty much know about like 2 states, 3 idiots, etc there are the movies that we have seen but we never knew we based on novels and plays by famous writers like William Shakespeare. So, here’s the list of those such movies:
1. Devdas: Based on a Bengali romantic novel-Devdas and Parineeta written by Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay.
2. Aisha: Emma
3. 7 Khoon Maaf: Sussana’s seven husbands
4. Hello: Based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel- One night @ the call center
5. Parineeta: On same novel as Devdas i.e. Devad and Parineeta
6. Omkara: On Shakespeare’s famous play, Othello
7. Maqbool: Shakespearean play, Macbeth
8. Haider: Again based on Shakespear’s famous play, Hamlet
9. Saawariya: White Nights
10. Shehab, Bibi Aur Golam: Sahib, Biwi Aur Ghulam
