1. Gol Maal (1979)
Starring Amol Palekar, Utpal Dutt, Bindiya Goswami in the lead and directed by legendary Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Gol Maal is a classic Bollywood comedy film. The film is absolutely clean and the script works even today. You won’t get bored for a second while watching this film.
2. Dhamaal (2007)
Indra Kumar’s Dhamaal starring Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey and Aashish Chaudhary totally justifies its name. The modern comedy is full of fun and gives you several moments where you will have a blast laughing along with your family or even friends. This is a film that appeals to the audience of all age groups.
3. Chupke Chupke (1975)
Amitabh Bachchan & Dharmendra’s fantastic on screen jodi ensures to leave you in splits throughout the film.
4. Hera Pheri (2000)
Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty starrer Hera Pheri has proved to be a cult comedy over the years. The characters Raju, Babu Rao & Shyam became iconic. The film also had a sequel titled Phir Hera Pheri which was a Super Hit at Box Office. A 3rd part of the series is promised by the makers.
5. Hungama (2003)
Starring Akshay Khanna, Paresh Rawal, Aftab Shivdasani and Rimi Sen, the Priyadarshan directed film is loved by a large section of the audience. Hungama without a doubt is one of the clean and best comedy films of Bollywood.
6. Tere Bin Laden (2010)
Starring Ali Zafar, the film released back in 2010 with very less hype but won a lot of hearts with its comedy. The film is full of humour and is still loved by the audience. A sequel to the film was also made.
7. Bheja Fry (2007)
Starring the very talented Vinay Pathak, Rajat Kapoor and Ranvir Shorey the film is one of the most loved comedy films. The film has immensely funny content and equally great performances by the actors. A sequel of the film was also made later.
8. Chashme Buddoor (1981)
Starring Farooq Shaikh, Deepti Naval in lead, Chashme Buddoor is one of the most memorable films of Bollywood. The humour of the film is still enjoyed by many film lovers.
9. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983)
Starring legendary actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Pankaj Kapur, Neena Gupta the film carved its own niche among the audience. The film was not successful when it released but proved to be a cult classic over the years.
10. Chachi 420 (1997)
The remake of Tamil film Avvai Shanmughi had Kamal Haasan playing the dual character. The spectacular performance of Kamal Haasan and amazing situational comedy made Chachi 420 one of the best Bollywood comedy films ever.
11. Andaz Apna Apna (1994)
Another film that was unsuccessful when released, however, it became a cult classic later with a great amount of niche religiously discussing the dialogues and situations of the film.
The Rajkumar Santoshi directed film had Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor starring together.
12. Angoor (1982)
Written and Directed by Gulzar, the film starred Sanjeev Kumar, Deven Verma, Moushumi Chatterjee, Padma Chavan, C.S.Dubey, Yunus Parvez, T.P.Jain.
The film was the remake of 1963 Bengali comedy film Bhrantibilas that is based on Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar’s Bengali novel by the same name which itself is based on Shakespeare’s play The Comedy of Errors.
Even after 35 years of its release, Angoor is still one of the Best Bollywood comedy films ever.
13. Welcome (2007)
Starring Akshay Kumar & Katrina Kaif in lead while Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal and Anil Kapoor in other important roles, the film proved to be a Blockbuster back in 2007.
The jokes and the performances especially of Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal made people burst out with laughter. Akshay Kumar gave a great performance too and the film is still very much enjoyable.
14. Khosla Ka Ghosla (2006)
Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the film had Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Parvin Dabas, Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey in main roles. Still enjoyed by a large section of people.
15. All The Best (2009)
Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film was a laugh riot. Starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Mugdha Godse, Johny Lever and Sanjay Mishra the film can’t be skipped if we talk about Bollywood’s best comedy films.
Johny Lever and Sanjay Mishra’s acting made people cry with laughter with their hilarious performance in the movie.
All The Best had a great competition from Akshay Kumar’s Blue when released back in 2009. The film opened to a weak response, but later on proved to be a Hit thanks to its amazing content.
