It all started when Randy in the movie Scream (1996) described certain rules that are necessary to follow, in order to survive a horror movie. However Scream franchise didn’t describe many other aspects of a horror movie that a character must know to survive. I am a horror movie buff, I am a fan of each and every sub-genre of horror movies. Like most of the other loyal horror fans I have seen the slasher horror movies like The Burning, Halloween Series, A Nightmare On Elm Street Series, Friday The 13th series and much more. Have seen the Splatter movies like Braindead, Hostel Series, Saw series. Based on my observations from watching horror movies, reading various horror fan forums, articles, I have compiled a list of some rules that one must abide to survive a horror movie. I know these rules are not complete, there are a lot more stuff that can be added here. But these are the general guidelines that you have to follow in order to not get killed by the killer. There are countless horror movies, horror villains, and we can’t have a list of rules to survive them all. But this list is specific to the movies that have human killers, supernatural killers, and a group of dumb people who’ll eventually get themselves killed. So just sit back and start reading the rules! Who knows when life would turn into a horror movie.
