Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer action drama movie Bharat is ruling the box office and the most anticipated movie of Salman is winning hearts.
Sonali Kulkarni who portrayed the character of young Salman’s mother was receiving a lot of criticism from the netizens. As the 44-year-old actor played the mother of 53-year-old actor Salman Khan.
Recently in an interview with News18, Sonali responded to the criticism she faced online for playing Salman Khan’s mother. She said, Of course, I thought of the age barrier. It did cross my mind, but I have played a variety of characters since the beginning of my career. In my first film, I was a tree. In ‘Daayraa’ I was a boy. Similarly, in ‘Mission Kashmir’, I have played a surrogate mother to Hrithik and played the character of Sanjay Dutt’s wife.
Nobody questioned my characters then so why now. Sonali further added she had doubts whether she will be able to do justice to her character. But director Ali Abbas Zafar was confident that she would do justice to the character.
Sonali said, My roles are my choice and I stand by my choice proudly.
However, for the first time in Bollywood, a younger actor is seen playing the character of a mother to an elder Bollywood superstar.
