Actress Shruti Marathe is a famous name in the Marathi cinema and recently she revealed in an interview that she has faced casting couch in the industry.
In an interview to a YouTube channel, Shruti talked about an incident in which the producer asked her to compromise for getting the remuneration that she wanted.
Shruti said that she met a producer for a movie, all the other things were already finalized, only the remuneration was left to be decided. The producer asked Shruti about her remuneration and she told him how much she expects. Shruti said that initially the producer was acting professional but later on, he started using words like “compromise, one night”, etc.
Shruti added that while they were discussing, the producer said to her that he will pay the amount she wants provided she is ready to do things that he wants. Shruti was shocked and for two-three minutes, she was at loss of words but then she decided that this guy needs to be answered. She said that she asked the producer whether he is making his wife sleep with the lead actor to do his movie.
Shruti further said that she walked out and told other people about this act of the producer and all it took was just one moment of being brave and fearless.
Shruti Marathe has also worked in Hindi and Tamil movies along with some TV shows and this revelation by her will give strength to all those who are looking forward to make their career in this industry as they may also face such people.
