Sourav Ganguly emphasised the need for decisive measures in response to repeated terr*r strikes, saying such incidents cannot be brushed aside and must not be tolerated. He underlined that taking a firm stand is essential to send a strong message.

Meanwhile, military tensions have flared along the Line of Control. Pakistan’s forces engaged in unprovoked firing across the border for two consecutive nights, prompting a measured but firm response from Indian troops. Although no casualties were reported, the exchanges highlighted the mounting friction between the two nations in the wake of the Pahalgam att@ck.
The political rift has already led to India halting major diplomatic and logistical ties with Pakistan. New Delhi suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, closed the Attari land border, expelled Pakistani military officials and ordered the exit of Pakistani nationals who had entered via land routes, demanding they leave by May 1.
Retaliating, Pakistan shut down its airspace to Indian carriers and suspended trade links, including routes through third-party countries. The standoff is now threatening to spill into the world of sports as well, with the broadcast of the Pakistan Super League facing disruption, given the withdrawal of experienced Indian crew members associated with PCB operations.
India has not toured Pakistan for nearly two decades due to ongoing political tensions and with the situation deteriorating further, even limited cultural and sporting engagements seem increasingly untenable.
