In a recent appearance on a show, Govinda offered a rare look into his marriage with Sunita. He described her with great affection, saying that she has a childlike nature and even their children treat her with that same softness. He said that she has always managed the home well because of who she is — honest, straightforward and sincere, even if she sometimes says things she could have held back.
Govinda also acknowledged that while men may not always think the way women do, he has deep respect for her instincts and integrity. He shared that he believes men run the household in a practical sense but women hold the power to shape the world. Though he sometimes finds it difficult to understand her perspective fully, he values her honesty and inner strength.
When asked whether Sunita ever points out his faults, Govinda admitted that she has made mistakes too and he has forgiven her many times, just as he has done with others in the family. He reflected on how marriages change with time, especially when a man no longer has his mother around and begins to rely more on his wife. He said that over the years, a wife can become a guiding and even scolding presence, much like a mother, often without realising the shift.
Speculation about their marriage grew recently when reports hinted that the couple might separate. The rumours were put to rest when they appeared together during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in August. Sunita addressed the gossip directly, saying that if anything were truly wrong, they would not be standing so close together, and that no one, no matter who, could separate them.
Earlier, in one of her vlogs, Sunita was seen visiting the Mahalaxmi Temple in Mumbai. She became emotional while speaking to a priest and hinted that she had felt betrayed in some way. Still, she expressed complete faith in the divine, saying that anyone trying to disturb her family would have to face the strength and protection of the Goddess.
Through their words and actions, both Govinda and Sunita have made it clear that despite challenges and outside rumours, their relationship has endured with affection, forgiveness and faith.
