The story of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s estate has slowly turned into an emotional and bitter family struggle. What began as a routine inheritance process has now become a painful public feud, marked by accusations, mistrust and heartbreak.
Sunjay’s sister Mandhira recently opened up about her frustration and grief, expressing how deeply the conflict has affected her family. She claimed that Sunjay’s wife Priya Sachdev insisted on keeping every step of the process hidden, which only made her more suspicious. In a podcast conversation, Mandhira questioned why so much secrecy was required, saying that the constant demand for confidential agreements and concealed documents created doubt about what was really happening.

She said that she was determined to fight for what she believed was right, especially when it came to her family’s share. According to her, the estate was something built over years through the hard work of their father and siblings and she felt that they were being unfairly removed from what they had contributed to.

She also alleged that their mother Rani Kapur had been made to sign documents in the vulnerable hours following Sunjay’s d*ath, without understanding what she was agreeing to. For Mandhira, this was a moment of deep betrayal, one that left the family feeling stripped of what rightfully belonged to them.
The tension extends beyond the siblings. Sunjay’s children from his marriage with Karisma Kapoor – Samaira and Kiaan have taken legal action as well. They approached the Delhi High Court, insisting that they deserve their rightful share in their late father’s assets. In their petition, they claimed that Priya Sachdev had misrepresented the will and questioned its authenticity.

In a recent move, the children also sought a court order preventing any changes or transfers of Sunjay’s assets until the truth comes out. The next hearing on this request is scheduled for November 20 and the family along with the public now waits to see how this deeply emotional dispute will unfold.
At its heart, this is not just a legal battle; it is a story of a grieving family trying to hold on to trust, clarity and the legacy of a man whose absence has left a painful vacuum.
