Akshaye Khanna has never chased noise, on or off screen. Known for his quiet intensity and thoughtful performances, he is once again in the spotlight after the success of Dhurandhar. His portrayal of Rehman Dakait has earned praise, while a surprise dance entry set to an Arabic track has made him an unexpected social media favourite.

With this renewed attention, curiosity around Akshaye Khanna’s personal life has also grown, especially since the actor has remained unmarried despite a long and successful career in Bollywood.
According to past reports, Akshaye once came close to marriage with Karisma Kapoor. The two were said to be close friends who grew closer after Karisma’s breakup with Ajay Devgn. Their bond reportedly developed into a romantic relationship, and Karisma’s father Randhir Kapoor was supportive of the match. It was even suggested that he approached Akshaye’s father, the late actor Vinod Khanna, to discuss the possibility of marriage.
However, the relationship did not move forward. Reports from the time indicated that Karisma’s mother Babita Kapoor opposed the idea. Karisma was at the peak of her career then and her family reportedly felt marriage was not the right step at that stage of her life. Eventually, the relationship ended and Karisma went on to marry industrialist Sunjay Kapur.
Akshaye Khanna, known for guarding his privacy, never publicly addressed this chapter. Over the years, he has spoken candidly, though sparingly, about his views on marriage. In earlier interviews, he explained that married life did not suit the way he wanted to live. For him, marriage meant a major shift in lifestyle and a loss of personal control, something he was not comfortable with. He valued independence and the freedom to make decisions without shared responsibilities.

Interestingly, this outlook was not always fixed. In an even older interview, Akshaye Khanna admitted that he did not necessarily see himself as a lifelong bachelor. He said he had no rigid expectations about a life partner’s appearance or background, suggesting that companionship mattered more than checklists or ideals.
Over time, however, Akshaye Khanna seems to have grown more comfortable with his choices. While many actors follow familiar paths, he has carved his own, one defined by selective work, personal space and quiet conviction. As his career continues to earn admiration, his personal life remains a reflection of a man who chose to live on his own terms.
