Deepfakes are getting out of hand and this time, it’s Jamie Lever who had to step in and set the record straight. Johny Lever’s daughter recently became the latest celebrity target of AI-generated videos, after fake clips showing her supposedly marrying Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s son, Yashvardhan Ahuja, started doing the rounds online.

Jamie Lever took to Instagram to clear the air, sharing a video where she walked through exactly how the whole thing unfolded. At first, she said, she found the clips genuinely funny, she and her cousins had a good laugh over them and even passed the videos around among themselves. But things took a turn when people actually started calling her up to congratulate her on the “wedding” and that’s when she realised the rumour had spread further than expected.
In her video, Jamie Lever acknowledged that whoever made the AI clips clearly put in some effort, she admitted the visuals of her in bridal wear and wedding attire looked impressively convincing. Still, she had a clear request for anyone who had shared the videos: since they’d already racked up enough views and attention, it was time to take them down. She was firm that the clips were entirely fabricated and had no basis in reality.

Jamie Lever also had a lighthearted word for anyone who’d got excited about the idea of her getting married, telling them not to celebrate too soon, since real news of that kind would take a while longer to arrive. At the same time, she wanted to clear up any genuine confusion by stating plainly that the marriage claims were false.
Although she stopped short of naming Yashvardhan directly, Jamie Lever did address her connection to him — explaining that the person linked to her in these rumours is actually someone much younger than her, whom she considers a brother and that the two of them are currently working together on a film project. She used the moment to appeal to people to stop creating these kinds of misleading videos, calling the trend genuinely harmful.
