On December 7, the trailer for Avengers: Endgame was dropped by Marvel and ever since then, there have been several speculations about the storyline and what could possibly happen in the new movie.
At the end of Avengers: Infinity War which released this year, we saw Thanos snap his fingers and destroy half of the universe. Several heartbreaking losses were endured, but if the crazy fan theories are to be believed, it was only the beginning.
The new film will be seeing the remaining Avengers trying fix things, and it is expected that the war will have some sort of collateral damage. But who will die at the end of Avengers 4? We’ll get to it.
In Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Iron Man says, “We’re the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the livelong day but that up there, that’s… That’s the endgame. How were you guys planning on beating that?”
To this Captain America had replied, “Together.” Tony, in a morose way, had said that they’ll lose. But Captain America being Captain America had said that they’ll do that together too.
Does that mean…? Oh, but no, surely…? But how could that happen?
Yes, a theory suggests that we may lose Tony Stark and Captain America at the end of Avengers 4. But wait, our claims aren’t without evidence.
If you remember, in Infinity War, Doctor Strange had said that there was a one in 14 million chance that they could win the war against Thanos. Probably, Iron Man plunging into space in a nuclear weapon and then sacrificing his life is the only the way they could win the war.
Also, Iron Man gets a lot of screen time in Infinity War. We even see a different side to him in the film, that of a family man. Now that could be a strategy to make his death all the more effective in the next film.
However, if Tony Stark is indeed dying in the next film, I personally feel that killing another major character (that is, Captain America) would be a foolish move. If two characters are dying in the next movie, it reduces the impact.
Now of course, these are just theories and they may very well be wrong. But what if they are right? You will just have to wait till May 2019 to find out.
