The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently announced the Indian squad for the 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan and many Indian cricket fans are rejoiced as they get to see the names of senior Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in this list.
Both the senior Indian cricketers were not a part of the Indian T20 squad since the semi-final match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 which India lost to England but many Indian fans were demanding their comeback as the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to take place in June in West Indies and USA.
It is being said that both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made it clear to the selectors that they both are available for selection in the T20 squad and they want to play the upcoming T20 World Cup. The chief Indian selector Ajit Agarkar went to South Africa in order to have a discussion with both the Indian cricketers and head coach Rahul Dravid after which the Indian team was announced.

As far as the 2-match test series against South Africa is concerned, India managed to level the series by 1-1 after winning the second test match by 7 wickets and it has become the first Asian team to win a test match in Cape Town.
The first T20 match between India and Afghanistan will be played on 11 January 2024 at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, the second T20 match will be played on 14th at Holkar stadium, Indore and the third and the final T20 will be played on 17th at M Chinnaswamy stadium, Bengaluru.
