There was a news just a couple of days back when few people in China tried to sell their kidney to raise funds to buy newly launched iPhone 6s. Perhaps they got another option which can lead them to raise funds to buy iPhone 6s in a legal and easier way. A Sperm bank in China associated with country’s no.1 hospital is now offering eligible donors the money equivalent to iPhone 6s.
According to the advertisements posted by several more hospitals which said, ” The hospitals are looking for sperm donors aged between 22 to 45 who can donate a minimum of 40 ml sample of their semen and will be paid 5,000 yuan ($785).”
The irony is that, the Hospitals are not giving iPhones, instead they will be paying money against the donations. But interestingly, it is using iPhone 6s in their advertisements to lure men to donate sperm.
Though the bank has some stipulations, the donors should be at least 5ft 4inch in height, should possess a college degree and must pass full medical examination to get accepted.
This as expected stirred controversy in China with people saying that sperm donation is a public welfare and should not be commercialized.
It should be noted that, China has some strict rules regarding managing of sperm banks. Lack of sperm donators has lead hospitals to post such kind of advertisements to lure men to donate their sperm.
