The CCTV cameras have become pretty common nowadays as people have started installing them in their houses as well.
Recently an Instamart delivery guy was caught stealing shoes from outside a flat in Gurugram. The incident took place on 9 April and a video which was shared by an X user went viral on the Internet.
In the video, the delivery guy is seen climbing up the stairs holding a bag. He rings the bell and keeps an eye on the pair of shoes kept outside. He delivers the packet, updates the status, looks around and picks up the shoes, hides them in towel and leaves. The person who posted the video also alleged that Swiggy was not sharing the contact details of the delivery guy.
The video was posted on 11 April by Rohit Arora who wrote in the caption, “Swiggy’s drop and PICK up service. A delivery boy just took my friend’s shoes (@Nike) and they won’t even share his contact.”

In response, Swiggy wrote that they expect better from their delivery partners and asked Rohit to contact them in DM for further help. However, Rohit has posted screenshots as evidence that Swiggy hasn’t provided any solution to the complaint.
Still waiting for their response. pic.twitter.com/AOjVAlEwyq

In another tweet, Rohit wrote, “Swiggy support called and just said they can’t track their rider. We need to contact their legal team or file a police complaint. At this point it’s not about shoes it’s about safety. The rider was let into the house for delivering goods. Now we all have to think about doing it.”

Other online users also reacted to this matter and here are some selected reactions:
Why they cant track rider? They have every info right.?? Its just simple that swiggy is thinking that customer wont proceed further for shoes… But you should actuay file a complaint on Delivery guy and Swiggy @Swiggy

All these online services have a term called mediator. They don't take any legal actions. Be it Amazon or Flipkart.

Wow after a clinching evidence, they still cannot find out the guy. Swiggy, zomato, ola, oyo are all the same

Swiggy doesn’t take any responsibility for anything.

I'd think twice before ordering from @Swiggy
What @Flipkart is for e-commerce, #swiggy is for food delivery. Very bad customer service experience, whenever you buy from them basically you're just flipping a coin & hope everything is fine, else there's a bad experience— charan (@billy_butcher01) April 12, 2024
Well, a police complaint should be filed in this regard, what do you say?
