Ankit came to Gurgaon on Saturday only:

As per Chunni Lal Wadhwa, the deceased came to Gurgaon for GMAT on Saturday only. In his words,

“He had been busy with preparations since he had come. He ate dinner with us around 10.30pm on Sunday and went to sleep in his room. It was past 2 am when we were woken up by the security guard. Later, we found him lying in a pool of blood on the ground.”

Ankit’s personal details:

Ankit belonged to Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar and in the year 2015, he finished his MSc in Economics from IIT-K. After that, he began to work at JP Morgan Chase on the post of an analyst in Mumbai but in March, he resigned and moved back to Sri Ganganagar to live with family.

Here’s what Times Of India was told by his childhood friend,

“Ankit wanted to go abroad for doing his PhD. I remember him very fondly from our schooldays. He and I were the shortest people in the school and thus, had become friends.”

Police’s take:

As per Sushant Lok police station’s SHO, Gaurav Phogat, the deceased was allegedly depressed for the last 16 months and was getting treated for it as well. In his words,

“Initial investigation suggested that Wadhwa was suffering from acute depression following which he took such an extreme step. It was also found that he was not satisfied with his current job profile. He was grappling with depression from last 16 months. However, his colleagues told us that he was planning to pursue higher studies and was about to sit for an entrance examination in a management institute. Prime facie it appears that he had been depressed but the exact reason behind it is not clear.”

He was interested in cricket and was a marathon runner as well. Phogat said,

“We have seized his mobile phone and our technical team is trying to decode its security lock to find out if he had spoken to anyone before his death.”

A report is filed under CrPC Section 174 and his body is given to family members subsequent to post-mortem which reveals that he died “due to multiple injuries”.

Cops have started a probe into the matter and investigation is going on considering other angles too.
