Tim Cook, Apple CEO introduced the new iPhone 7 at the product launch in San Francisco on Sept. 7, 2016. The new iPhone 7 smartphones price range starts $649 and the sale starts on Friday in the U.S. iPhone 7 won’t be available in India until next month, and when it does, the base price will be close to $250 more expensive.
In India Apple’s iPhone 7 has the maximum retail price of about 60,000 rupees, or around $900. It starts selling on Oct. 7 in India. This price is more than 35% of the Apple’s phone price in America.
Apple has been trying to expand its territory, increase its market in the world. It is trying to occupy the Indian market which is very big, it is coming up with new marketing strategies so that everyone can buy and afford the apple product, offering older models for lower prices, it has even petitioned to sell refurbished phones in India.
But this Apple’s latest move will surprise you and disappoint you. If you’re planning to buy older iPhone models, expecting they’ll be available now at cheaper rates, then you will be disappointed. Apple has removed iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 5s smartphones from the Apple India website. This clearly indicated the discontinuation of the products from the country. It is often seen that the users go for the older models after the launch of the latest model of the product, normally there’s a price cut, the older models are available at cheaper rates when the new variant launches.
Only the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE are available in India. So Indian users now have only three iPhone options to buy from.
The storage capacity of the previous iPhone models have also been increased. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices now won’t be available in 16GB and 64GB storage versions, now it will be in 32GB and 128GB versions. iPhone SE would be available in the same 16GB and 64GB storage versions. The iPhone 7 will come in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB storage versions.
