The Civil Aviation Authority of USA proposed construction of residential airfields so that the deactivated military lanes could be put to use once again and it will also help in accommodating retired pilots. This resulted in formation of communities which comprised people who were related in some manner with aviation.

One such area is Cameron Airpark, California and many people started talking about such airfields after a video related to it went viral on TikTok.

The video showed that everyone in the town has a plane which they keep in hangers just like people in other towns keep cars in garage. This may be surprising for many of us but in reality, there are many residential airfields in USA where owning a plane is a very simple thing. Many residents use planes for going to work and the streets are so wide that a plane and a car can pass each other easily without colliding.

In order to avoid accidents, the street signs and letterboxes are fixed at lower height in comparison to their usual height so that they don’t get hit by the wings of the planes. Almost all the streets are named in such a manner that they have a connection with aviation.

It is pretty common for people to see planes on roads and all of them have hangers either built in their house or attached with their house for parking the plane.

In total, there are around 630 residential airparks in the world, out of which 610 are in USA.

Are you surprised after knowing about residential airparks?
