The results of IIT-JEE have been declared recently and since then, the atmosphere of engineering colleges has heated up due to the influx of students who want to take admission in these colleges. It’s not just the students but their parents too are trying their level best to ensure that their children get admission in good college.
The IITs are the most desired while the NITs and central government funded or owned institutes are also seeing a good number of admission applications. Amongst all this, the rankings declared by the Human Resources ministry will be of a great help to the candidates in making their decision regarding the college they want to get admission in.
A report titled “India Ranking Report 2018” deals with the ranking of the institutes in various categories such as engineering, management, pharmacy, etc.
The exercise of ranking the institutes started in 2015 and it is based on 5 parameters which are outreach and inclusivity, graduation outcomes, research and professional practice, perception and teaching/learning and resources.
The IIT-Madras stood at the first rank with a score of 88.95 while the second spot was taken by IIT-Bombay and it scored 84.82. The third and fourth spots were taken by IIT-Delhi and IIT-Kharagpur respectively. IIT-Delhi scored 82.18 while the score of IIT-Kharagpur is 77.78.
