Google is the biggest search engine of the present times and each one of us, irrespective of age, profession, etc. is quite acquainted with it and uses it for gaining knowledge and for clearing our doubts as well.
As the year 2023 is coming near its end, Google has released the list of the top-most searches by Indians in 2023; while some searches are quite obvious, few are little surprising.

The scientists of ISRO made all of us proud as India’s lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 was a huge success and it certainly deserved to be on the top in the list of the most searched news events. The dispute between Israel-Palestine got the third place and the sudden d*mise of actor Satish Kaushik brought him at the fourth place.
3. Most searched sports events:
Though there were some big sports events this year as there was ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023, Asia Cup 2023 and Asian Games yet Indian Premier League 2023 was at the first place in the list of the most searched sports events of the year 2023.
4. Most searched cricket matches:
It is quite obvious that the final match of ICC ODI World Cup 2023 which India lost to Australia was the most searched cricket match of the year and the semi-final match which was played between India and New Zealand was at the second spot.
5. Most searched people:
The beautiful actress Kiara Advani attained the top position in the list of the most searched people and her husband Sidharth Malhotra got the sixth spot. The Indian cricketers Shubman Gill and Mohammad Shami got the second and the fourth spots, respectively. The third spot was also secured by a cricketer – Rachin Ravindra, a New Zealand cricketer of the Indian origin.

2023 was a good year for Bollywood as many movies did exceptionally well business, for example “Pathaan”, “Jawan”, “Gadar 2”, etc. While Shah Rukh Khan starrer “Jawan” got the top spot, “Pathaan” was the fifth most searched movie of the year. “Gadar 2” got the second spot and “The Kerala Story” attained the sixth position.
7. Most searched shows:
The shows on OTT platforms also got searched on Google and Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi starrer “Farzi” got the first spot in this list.
8. Top-most “Near me” searches:
Coding classes were at the top spot in the “near me” searches and surprisingly people also searched for earthquakes.
9. Most searched travel destinations:
The Indians showed a lot of interest in searching for Vietnam but they also searched for Goa and Kashmir which got the second and sixth spots, respectively.
