As far we knew that common people are usually robbed on the train in the sleeper class mostly, but now the ministers even cannot have a sound sleep on trains even in their 1st class coupes. Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister jayant Malaiya and his wife Sudha Malaiya robbed onboard the Jabalpur-Nizamuddin Express train near Mathura; couple were looted and had to lose a gold chain, ring and some cash. With immediate action the Railway board has ordered an enquiry into the incident. Mr. And mrs. Malaiya boarded on the train at Damoh and headind toward Delhi.
According to Railway spokesperson Anil Saxena, the three RPF personnel who were there in the train as the securities have also been suspended in connection with the issue.
Mrs. Malaiya told PTI outside Parliament that they were travelling by Jabalpur- Nizamuddin Express train to Delhi and boarded the train at Damoh. “About 4 at the morning I responded to a knock at the door of our coupe and found a person carrying dagger entering forcefully followed by four others.”
Further added, “They snatched my purse, chain and ring and also took away money from my husband’s purse. I am still frightened of the incident.” She said the accused also robbed passengers in the adjoining coupe.
After the incident she is planning for a meeting with Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu regarding the securities issues. When asked about the response of the RPF she said that because of RPF other passengers on the compartment were saved. The train was stopped due to chain pulling and the robbers left suddenly when RPF men hit the spot.
