Sanju Samson, the Indian cricketer, may have not been able to cement his place in the national squad but he has a huge fan following and many of his fans feel that the BCCI has been partial when it comes to giving chances to Sanju Samson and giving chances to other cricketers.
Sanju Samson leads Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and he is the second skipper after legendary Shane Warne to take RR to the finals, however RR lost that finals to Gujarat Titans.
Recently, Sanju Samson attended an event where he met and interacted with more than 2000 students in Kochi. When he was asked to tell about his journey in RR and his approach towards leadership, he said that it was pretty simple, it happened before this season when they were playing in Dubai and the lead owner Manoj Badale came up to him and asked whether he is ready to lead the team. He said that he is ready for leading because he felt that he has played enough matches for the franchise and has also spent enough time in the franchise to understand and believe that he can play this role properly. He was confident that he can do it and he is glad that things are going pretty well now.
Sanju Samson who plays for Kerala at the domestic level also talked about the need and desire to stand out with his batting and performances. He said that when a player is playing cricket in the country which is the best and number one in the world, where there is huge talent and competition, then a player from Kerala has to do something special to make his presence felt.
Sanju Samson further added that there was a shift in his mindset as he wanted to adopt aggressive approach from the very beginning of the innings. He said that he wanted to do things differently as to why he should wait for 10 balls for hitting a sixer and why he can’t smash a six on the very first ball. He added that this was the idea behind the development of his stroke play and as he worked very hard for it, there are many close people who also helped him and he is happy that the results are coming good. Sanju Samson concluded by saying that he keeps working hard as he is not satisfied and wants to do something stunning for the team that he plays for.
The IPL 2024 is going to start from 22 March and fans of Sanju Samson and RR will surely want to see RR lifting the trophy as they have only one IPL title to their name.
