This is where Google Maps come into play as it guides a person and tell the route from one location to another and the best thing is that it also tells the alternate route if there is heavy traffic on the primary route. However, there have been instances when Google Maps has committed blunder and the person following it has found himself lost.

Recently a group of friends was returning to Karnataka from Gudalur and the SUV driver was using Google Maps for guidance but it turned out that Google Maps told them wrong route and he was left in a shocked state at a flight of steps.

Gudalur is a hill town in Tamil Nadu which lies at the tri-junction of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala; it is quite famous among tourists, especially those who head towards Ooty. A person was returning from Gudalur after having a good weekend with his friends over there, he was using Google Maps and the app directed him through a route which was touted as the “fastest route” by the app.

While driving on that route, the person drove through police quarters and then he reached a steep flight of stairs in a residential area.

The person understood that something was wrong so he stopped the SUV at the flight of steps and asked the local people to guide him. The locals and the police officials helped him in getting his SUV down from the flight of steps and also guided them about the route.
