He played the lead role of serial k*ller Charles Sobhraj in his movie “Main aur Charles” (2015) and though the movie was a flop on the box-office yet Randeep’s acting was loved by critics.

Recently the French serial k*ller whose full name is Charles Gurumukh Sobhraj Hotchand Bhawnani and is also known as B*kini K*ller, The Serpent and Splitting K*ller was in news as he was released from the jail on the orders of Supreme Court of Nepal.

Charles Sobhraj whose father was Indian and mother was Vietnamese was in prison in Nepal since 2003 and was serving imprisonment on m*rd*r charges. It is being said that Charles Sobhraj has taken lives of around 15-20 people in between 1972 and 1976.

A leading publication “Times of India” also published the news about the release of Charles Sobhraj but instead of posting photo of real Charles Sobhraj, the publication printed the pic of Randeep Hooda from his movie “Main aur Charles” in which the actor played the character of Charles Sobhraj.

The error was noticed by Randeep Hooda and he asked the publication whether it is a back-handed compliment or they got confused between the real and the reel.

This is what Randeep Hooda’s tweet read, “Is that a back handed compliment @timesofindia or did you genuinely get confused between the ‘real’ and ‘reel’ Charles Sobhraj?”

Twitterati reacted soon on the mistake made by the publication but majority were full of praises for the actor for playing the character so realistically. Check out some selected reactions:

While Randeep Hooda played the character in a great manner, we feel that makeup artist and costume designer should also be praised for making Randeep Hooda look like real Charles Sobhraj in the photo and the movie as well. What do you say?
