Vikrant Massey Breaks Silence On The Sequel Of His Superhit Movie ‘12th Fail’

Vikrant Massey is certainly one of the most loved actors of present times and it is only his sheer determination, hard work and talent which have helped him in getting lead roles after playing supporting roles for quite some time initially.

The audiences are eagerly waiting for his next movie, ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’ which is releasing on 9^th August on a digital platform and also stars Taapsee Pannu and Sunny Kaushal in important roles. The movie is a sequel of 2021 released ‘Hasseen Dillruba’ and few other characters from the first part will also return in the second part.

Vikrant Massey’s ‘12^th Fail’ which was directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra was also a big hit and was loved by the audiences a lot. The film which got released in 2023 was based on the life story and struggles of Indian Police Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma. ‘12^th Fail’ was made on a budget of Rs. 20 crores and it went on to earn Rs. 69 crores worldwide.

There are many fans who want to see the sequel of ‘12^th Fail’ and during an interview which was carried out for the promotions of ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’, Vikrant Massey opened up on the possibility of the sequel of ‘12^th Fail’.

Here’s what Vikrant Massey said, “Now, I’m getting a lot of calls, people are saying let’s do another ‘12^th Fail’, but I’m making a conscious shift to pick something different. When something works, people want more of it, which is why ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’ is being made. But here, it is applicable because we left off the first part in a way that there was a potential to explore what happens in their lives beyond this.”

Vikrant makes it clear that in his opinion, the sequel of ‘12^th Fail’ is not going to happen as he stated, If you ask me, “I don’t see a 12^th Fail sequel happening. Do people want it? Yes. But is it the right thing? That is a collective decision that we all need to make. From my experience, I know that when a film is successful, people want to see more of the same.”
