The Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohli is presently in England where both the teams are playing 5-match test series and India has already taken a lead of 1-0 by defeating the hosts in the second test match that was played at Lord’s. The first test match which was played at Trent Bridge ended in a draw as rain played spoilsport and the fifth day’s game could not take place.

While Rohit Sharma played an important role in Lord’s win by scoring 83 runs in the first innings, Prithvi Shaw had not been able to play a test match in this series because he joined the team recently as a reserve player in view of the fact that Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar got injured during the warm-up games.  Earlier, Prithvi Shaw performed well on the tour of Sri Lanka where the Indian team lead by Shikhar Dhawan played limited over cricket.

Prithvi Shaw travelled along with Suryakumar Yadav from Sri Lanka to join the Indian squad in England and as per some reports, there are chances that SKY may get to play in the Leeds test match in place of test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara.
