1. Narendra Modi

PM Modi gave this explanation on asking about reason of excessive Malnutrition in Gujarat:- “If a mother tells her daughter to have milk, they’ll have a fight-she’ll tell her mother, ‘I won’t drink milk. I’ll get fat.’” Narendra Modi, Prime Minister

When asked about data that revealed “about half of Gujarati children under five were stunted” by a journalist. PM Narendra Modi, then Chief Minister of Gujarat, in 2013, said malnutrition on vegetarianism and beauty consciousness are the reasons behind this.

2. Mulayam Singh Yadav

“It is impossible for 4 people to rape someone together. If one brother commits rape, his three other brothers would also be made accused in the case.”

Mulayam Singh Yadav has broken all barriers when it comes to making stupid comments on situation. He made the comment on it is impossible for a gang rape to happen, .He also said that only 2 percent rapes have been reported in UP, and that some people are trying to spoil the state’s image by pointing at the law and order.His “Boys will be boys, they commit mistakes,” statement made while opposing capital punishment for rape, was one of the most stupidest comment ever made by a politician on such point of time.

3. Om Prakash Chautala

Om Prakash Chautala’s solution to the problem of rape was to concur with the khap panchayats on the need to marry off girls at a young age. He said, “We should learn from the past, especially in the Mughal era, people used to marry their girls to save them from Mughal atrocities and currently a similar situation is arising in the state.” Instead of giving out some way to the problem to be solved this man was busy .. commenting such kinds of things…

4. Rahul Gandhi

“Poverty is a state of mind”

This highly insensitive remark was made by him at a debate on‘Culture, Deepening Democracy and Most Marginalised Communities’, Gandhi also got his comments completely mixed up when, speaking about the drug problem in Punjab, he said, “10 out of 7 youths in Punjab are hooked on to drugs.”

5. Sri Prakash Jaiswal

“As time passes, the joy of the victory fades, justlike a wife becomes old and loses her charm.”

This highly sexist comparison of victory with a wife was made by the Congress leader after India won against Pakistan in the ICC World Twenty 20 Cup. He said, “New victories and new weddings both have their own importance. As time passes, the joy of the victory fades, just like a wife becomes old and loses her charm as time passes.”

6. Chiranjeet Chakraborty

“One of the reasons behind the increase in incidents of eve-teasing is short dresses and short skirts worn by women. This in turn instigates young men.”

Congress Legislator Chiranjeet Chakraborty said “Skirts should be prohibited keeping in view the rise of social crimes against women. The school should have pant-shirts or salwar suits as uniforms for girl students.”

7. Ashok Singhal

“India will be a Hindu nation by 2020, world by 2030”

Ashok Singhal commented, “I was at the Sai Baba Ashram where Sai Baba told me by 2020 the entire country will be Hindu and 2030 the entire world will be Hindu. I feel that revolution has started.”Earlier, Singhal had also stated that “Hindu couples should have five children”

8. Sharad Yadav

“Your god is dark like Ravi Shankar Prasad, but your matrimonial ads insist on white-skinned brides”

This highly racial and sexist comment was part of a series of such comments made by Sharad Yadav during a debate on the government’s Insurance Bill in Rajya Sabha. He also Quoted “The women of the south are dark but they are as beautiful as their bodies… We don’t see it here. They know dance.” While these comments were met with laughter by some of the male members in the rajya sabha, most of the women were outraged.

9. Mahesh Sharma

“Girls wanting a night out may be alright elsewhere but it is not a part of India culture,”

This is just one of the many controversial statements that the keeper of India’s culture, Union Minister of Culture, Mahesh Sharma, has made. The 54 year old Minister from Noida, had also been in the news for saying that, ‘Despite being a Muslimm, India’s late president, APJ Abdul Kalam was a great nationalist.’ According to him, there is nothing wrong in banning meat during Navratri and, “If the sacrifices of a few help maintain the religious sentiments of a section of society, there is no harm in doing this.”

10. Jitender Chattar

“To my understanding, consumption of fast food contributes to such incidents (rape). Chowmein leads to hormonal imbalance evoking an urge to indulge in such acts.”

Jitender Chhatar, khap panchayat leader, had a highly imaginative understanding of the human body when he declared that the consumption on fast food and chowmein led to the urge for committing rape.
