“If You Do It Again, You Won’t Go Back To Hotel,” Sachin Reveals Chat With Jr. Player As Captain

Undoubtedly, the former Indian legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is one of the best cricketers of all times and there is rarely any cricketer who can match his caliber as a batter. Sachin Tendulkar has a prolific record as a batsman, he has scored the maximum runs in tests and ODIs; the record for the highest number of international centuries is also in his name as he stands at the top of the list with 100 tons and there are many other records as well but the cricketer and his fans will certainly like to forget his track record as a skipper.

If we talk about Little Master’s track record as a skipper in test matches, it is worse than ODIs as the team played 25 test matches, lost 9, won 4 and 12 ended in a draw. This certainly proves that not everyone can be a good captain; however, recently Sachin Tendulkar revealed an interesting incident from his captaincy days.

While speaking in an event which was organized by tech company Infosys, Little Master stated that the team was on a tour to Australia under his captaincy and he talked about a junior player who also went with the squad for the first time. Sachin said that the junior player got a little carried away with the crowd which resulted in fielding discrepancies and he ended up giving away 2 runs where only 1 should have been given.

Sachin further stated that he called that junior player after the over, put his arms around that junior player’s neck and talked to him after which he didn’t repeat his mistakes. Sachin said that at that time, nobody knew what he said to that player but that junior player knew he couldn’t repeat those mistakes as Sachin said to him that he if he did that again, he was not going back to hotel, he would straight away go back to India to his home.
