The Indian cricket fraternity is currently worried for the Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal as he fell ill after drinking some poisonous liquid. It all happened when Mayank Agarwal was in the flight for New Delhi from Agartala, he saw a pouch on his seat and drank a little from it, thinking that it is water but soon there was irritation and burning sensation in his mouth and he was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of the ILS Hospital, Agartala.
Mayank Agarwal is the current skipper of the Karnataka team and recently he led his team to 29 runs win against Tripura in a Ranji Trophy match which was played at Bir Bikram Stadium in Agartala. The cricketer has filed a police complaint through his manager citing foul play. The SP West Tripura Kiran Kumar told mediapersons that Mayank Agarwal’s manager has filed a complaint at NCCPS (New Capital Complex Police Station) and police will investigate the matter.
As per the SP, the manager told that when the cricketer was sitting in the flight, he saw a pouch, he drank the liquid a little bit and soon there was irritation in his mouth, he was not able to speak, he had swelling and ulcers in mouth and he was admitted to ILS Hospital.
According to the reports, Mayank Agarwal has been discharged now so he has flown back to Bengaluru and chosen to stay away from media. After Mayank got discharged, the Karnataka coach talked to mediapersons and told that they thought Mayank would take 2-3 days to recover but he got discharged in 24 hours. At the same time, he added that care taken in Tripura was wonderful. Talking about the incident, the Karnataka coach said that it was past and he is not interested in talking about the past.
Karnataka is slated to play against Railways in their next match at Surat at Lalabhai Contractor Stadium starting from Friday, earlier it was reported that Mayank Agarwal won’t be playing in the match against Railways and Nikin Jose who is the vice-captain of the team would lead the team in Mayank’s absence.
