Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor once became one of the most talked-about couples of Bollywood, their relationship unfolding during the early, high-pressure years of their careers. What looked like a fairytale pairing from the outside carried its own challenges behind the scenes. Their bond, built through films and shared experiences, eventually ended, leaving Katrina to navigate heartbreak, self-doubt and the fear of losing control over her own dreams.

This emotional phase was recently revisited by veteran journalist Pooja Samant who recalled meeting Katrina Kaif shortly after the breakup. She described the actress as deeply hurt, overwhelmed by guilt, and convinced that she had jeopardised her own career. During an interview at YRF Studios, Katrina Kaif broke down repeatedly, saying she felt responsible for turning down important projects while she was in the relationship. Pooja Samant remembered her speaking openly about falling in love, expecting the relationship to lead to marriage and then being crushed when it all fell apart.
According to Pooja Samant, Katrina Kaif believed that becoming part of the Kapoor family might mean stepping back from acting, as that had been the norm for daughters-in-law in earlier generations. Operating under that assumption, she let go of several promising films, hoping for a future that ultimately never arrived. The disappointment, as per Pooja Samant, was heavy and visible.

But like many difficult chapters, this one eventually opened the door to a gentler, happier life. Katrina found companionship and stability with Vicky Kaushal whom she married in December 2021. Their joy grew with the arrival of their baby boy on November 7, 2025, a moment they shared with fans through a warm, grateful note. Ranbir Kapoor too moved ahead, marrying Alia Bhatt in April 2022, with whom he now has a daughter named Raha.
Life, in its own cinematic way, has brought their worlds together again. Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are all set to share the screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love and War, a reminder that even after heartbreak, stories evolve, people heal and new beginnings quietly take shape.
