The Rs 60 crore fraud case involving businessman Raj Kundra has taken another turn, drawing more attention from the film industry. During questioning by the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Raj Kundra reportedly claimed that part of the disputed money was paid as professional fees to actresses Bipasha Basu and Neha Dhupia.

Sources revealed that Raj Kundra made this statement during a five-hour interrogation session, though he chose to remain silent on several key details, leading investigators to plan further rounds of questioning. Reports also suggest that investigators have traced funds directly transferred from the company’s accounts into the bank accounts of at least four actresses including Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu and Neha Dhupia. Some of the transactions were also linked to Balaji Entertainment. So far, nearly Rs 25 crore in direct transfers has been tracked.

The investigation has also uncovered irregularities dating back to the time of demonetisation when a severe cash crunch forced the company into unusual financial dealings. Several suspicious transfers to other accounts were reportedly made during that period and the EOW has now secured evidence of these transactions.

Raj Kundra has also been asked to provide videos produced for a project titled “Best Deal”. While he claimed that these had already been handed over to the Property Cell earlier, the officials now intend to take them into their custody once again for closer scrutiny. The case continues to expand, with more names expected to surface as investigators piece together the flow of money.

Confirming the progress, the Mumbai Police stated that both — actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra are under investigation. They added that Raj Kundra had been summoned to appear before the EOW as part of the inquiry. With several financial trails and personalities now under the scanner, the probe is expected to intensify further in the coming days.
