Ranveer Singh Reacts After Getting Banned By FWICE Over Quitting Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3

Ranveer Singh has landed in the middle of a major Bollywood controversy after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against him over his reported exit from Don 3. The move has triggered widespread discussion online, with many fans questioning whether the actor can continue working in the film industry.

However, the FWICE action is not a legal or government-imposed ban. Instead, it is an industry-level non-cooperation directive that asks affiliated workers and technicians not to collaborate with Ranveer Singh on shoots or productions. Since Bollywood filmmaking heavily depends on these professionals, the decision could seriously affect ongoing and future projects involving the actor.

According to reports, Ranveer Singh may also face difficulties shooting or producing new films in India until the dispute with the makers of Don 3 is resolved.

The controversy escalated on Monday, May 25, when FWICE officially announced the directive. The federation claimed that Ranveer did not respond to multiple requests asking him to appear personally and explain his side of the matter. FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit stated that producer-director Farhan Akhtar had filed a complaint on April 11, alleging that Ranveer Singh exited the film just three weeks before the scheduled shoot.

According to FWICE, the Don 3 team later presented detailed records of pre-production expenses, including hotel bookings, overseas travel arrangements and location costs for more than 200 workers involved in the project. The federation said all the expenses were documented and audited.

Meanwhile, Excel Entertainment, the production house behind Don 3, has reportedly sought Rs 45 crore from Ranveer Singh as compensation for the financial losses caused by his exit.

FWICE also claimed it had sent Ranveer three reminders, each spaced 10 days apart, but allegedly received no response. FWICE president BN Tiwari said the federation wanted to send a strong message that no superstar is above industry rules.

Amid the growing controversy, Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson released a carefully worded statement. Without directly addressing the allegations, the actor’s team said that Ranveer believes professional disagreements should be handled privately and respectfully. The statement added that he has consciously avoided responding publicly to speculation and remains focused on his work and future commitments.

The spokesperson also said that Ranveer Singh continues to hold goodwill and respect for everyone associated with Don 3 and hopes the franchise continues to succeed. The statement concluded by saying that the actor has chosen restraint and dignity instead of engaging in public arguments.

Ranveer Singh had officially exited Don 3 in December 2025, nearly two years after being announced as the lead actor in the Farhan Akhtar directorial.
