Shah Rukh Khan is clearly feeling nostalgic and happy after receiving a special recognition from The Academy. The global film body recently shared a clip from his 2007 hit film Om Shanti Om on social media and the moment left the superstar overwhelmed.
Reacting to the post on X (formerly Twitter), SRK expressed his gratitude and joy. He wrote, “Thank u @TheAcademy for sending me down memory lane with Om’s speech… now I truly feel like the King of the world. Ha ha,” capturing his excitement and appreciation for the gesture.

For those unaware, The Academy had posted a memorable scene featuring SRK’s powerful speech from Om Shanti Om on Instagram. Along with the video, they wrote, “One thing about destiny… it doesn’t miss. Film: OM SHANTI OM (2007) Directed by Farah Khan Written by Farah Khan, Mushtaq Shiekh and Mayur Puri Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade and Kirron Kher”.

Released in November 2007, the film was directed by Farah Khan and also marked the debut of Deepika Padukone. The story followed a junior artist, played by SRK, who falls in love with a famous actress, Shantipriya. After being ki*led while trying to save her, he is reborn and returns to seek justice against those responsible.

The film’s popularity has remained strong over the years. In 2022, it was re-released in theatres across 20 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Patna, Bhopal and Ahmedabad, reportedly inspired by SRK’s fan club, SRK Universe.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Jawan, which earned him the National Film Award for Best Actor, shared with Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail. He will next appear in King, directed by Siddharth Anand, alongside Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone and Abhay Verma.
