Speculation moves fast in Bollywood and Ranveer Singh recently found himself at the centre of yet another whirlwind of rumours. Reports had suggested that the actor had walked out of Farhan Akhtar’s much-awaited action film Don 3 after the success of Dhurandhar, sparking claims that his sudden rise had changed priorities. However, a new update has now put those rumours to rest.
According to sources close to the project, Ranveer Singh has not abandoned the film in the way social media chatter suggested. The reality, insiders say, is far more layered. Ranveer was offered Don 3 at a time when his career was going through a difficult phase, marked by a string of box office disappointments. Despite the setbacks, producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani stood by him and showed faith when others were hesitant to sign him. Even projects being shelved elsewhere due to market concerns did not affect their belief in Ranveer’s potential.
Don 3 was never just another film for Ranveer Singh. Stepping into a franchise previously led by legends like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan was seen as a massive opportunity and a dream role for any actor. The trust Farhan Akhtar placed in him came well before Dhurandhar even released, making it clear that the decision had nothing to do with later success or renewed stardom.
Sources further clarify that Ranveer Singh’s exit had no connection to box office numbers or sudden confidence. Instead, it was the result of creative disagreements between the actor and the makers. These differences reportedly revolved around expectations and demands, leading to a mutual decision rather than a dramatic walkout or ego-driven move.
So far, neither Ranveer Singh nor the production team has issued an official statement but the development marks another shift for Don 3, which has already seen changes in its cast. Earlier, Kiara Advani stepped away from the project due to her pregnancy and Kriti Sanon was reportedly brought in as her replacement.
Away from the noise, Ranveer appears to be taking a well-earned break. He was recently spotted at Mumbai airport with wife Deepika Padukone as the couple left for a vacation. Dressed in matching black outfits, they smiled, waved and walked hand-in-hand, offering a calm contrast to the industry buzz surrounding his professional choices.
