Akshay Kumar is known for being very tidy, kind and generous by nature. As soon as you hear the name Akshay Kumar, all you can remember is the perfect Khiladi and a effortless actor. 1. Kumar was born in Delhi, India to Hari Om Bhatia who was a military officer and Aruna Bhatia.
2. Till the age of 3, he lived in Chandni Chowk of Delhi and then shifted to Mumbai, where he lived in Koliwada (basically a Punjabi dominated area).
3. He obtained a black belt in Taekwondo while in India, which inspired him to study martial arts in Bangkok, Thailand. While in Bangkok, he learned Muay Thai and worked as a chef and waiter.
4. One of his students, who was an aspiring photographer, recommended Kumar into modeling which ultimately led him to a modeling assignment.
5. Akshay Kumar than started making money with two days of shoot, which was much more than his one month’s salary where he worked as chef.
6. He did several odd jobs to pave his way in Bollywood. He even worked in Kolkata as a peon of travel agency and sometimes worked as a background dancer in several movies.
7. Once his uncle got him job at Metro Guest House where his first salary was 1000 baht which means it was Rs 1,500. Akshay says, he would sleep in the kitchen at night.
8. Kumar made his first appearance as the lead actor opposite Raakhee and Shantipriya in Saugandh (1991).
9. He was auditioned for Deepak Tijori’s role in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander but got rejected.
10. In an interview, Akshay said he wakes up at 5 in the morning and prefers to schedule most of his interviews between 6-7 am.
