Ajay Devgn and Kajol are among the most respected couples of Bollywood, admired for not only their successful careers but also the grounded lives they maintain off-screen. Despite belonging to celebrated film families, they have always emphasised individuality and hard work. Their children, Nysa and Yug, often remain in the spotlight due to their parents’ fame but both Ajay and Kajol have repeatedly said that they want their kids to make independent choices. This belief reflects in Kajol’s latest revelation about her daughter’s career path.
In a recent interaction, Kajol confirmed that Nysa, who is 22, has no plans to join Bollywood. The actress explained that her daughter has already made up her mind and will not pursue acting. This statement comes amid years of speculation about whether Nysa would follow her parents’ footsteps.
Kajol also shared her perspective on nepotism and the struggles faced by star kids in the industry. She noted that entering Bollywood comes with both advantages and disadvantages but one thing is unavoidable and that is criticism. According to her, every actor has to go through scrutiny, some of which can be harsh, unreasonable or even cruel. Yet, she believes it forms part of an actor’s growth and journey, something no one can escape or choose differently.
Earlier this year, at an event, Kajol had addressed similar questions regarding Nysa. At the event, she had clearly said that her daughter is not considering a career in films and has firmly made her decision.
While speaking about her own work, Kajol reflected on her experience in Sarzameen, a drama featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan. She described the project as emotionally layered and said that her character carried the film’s emotional weight. She also praised Ibrahim for portraying a complex role with maturity.
Through her words, Kajol not only shut down rumours about Nysa’s debut but also highlighted the realities of Bollywood, where fame comes with equal measures of opportunity and judgment.
