Fans of Hera Pheri 3 have been waiting for years but the film just can’t seem to take off. Ever since the third part was announced, it has faced one problem after another – from directors changing, to confusion over the cast, to legal fights and production issues. Now the film is on hold and there is no news on when it will restart. To make things worse, original director Priyadarshan has also left the project.

Amid all this, a new name has come up – director Ahmed Khan. He recently directed Welcome To The Jungle which also stars the iconic trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty. So, could he be the one to direct Hera Pheri 3?
When asked about it, Ahmed Khan gave a very interesting reply. He said that directing Hera Pheri 3 is a position that every director would dream of. He called Akshay, Suniel, Paresh, producer Firoz Nadiadwala and the Hera Pheri franchise a family, and said he is also a part of that same type of cinema. He made it clear that whenever the film is made, he will definitely be a part of it, whether as a director or not, and that they will make it together.

He also shared his experience of working with the three stars. He said he has worked with all three before and had even started his own career with Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. He said when he had them together for his film, he did not see them as Babu Rao, Shyam and Raju, but as characters of his own film.
But he admitted that when the three come together, the audience automatically sees them as the Hera Pheri characters. Their comic timing is still perfect and his only challenge was to break that Hera Pheri image at times.

However, Ahmed Khan also said he is busy with other things right now. He said his main focus at the moment is launching his son Azaan Khan. He joked that there is a struggler in his own house who keeps asking him when his chance will come. He is focusing on his son’s launch this year and is also planning another big film which will be announced soon.
Should Ahmed Khan direct Hera Pheri 3? What do you think?
